Thai Pro Am premiers in November 2016, when the first event of an annual tradition to-be takes place in Cholburi and Bangkok. Teams from Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden participate in the event with five teams each, as 20 professionals team up with 60 Scandinavian golf enthusiasts. The professionals represent both top competing talents and the best teaching pros.
The objective is to have up to 240 participants in year 2018. Thailand offers the perfect setting for the Pro Am, as it has a wide range of high level and challenging golf courses that makes even experienced players question their game strategy. Thailand’s positive and rich culture makes it an outstanding travel destination. “We really look forward to welcome leading professional golfers and business excecutive guests to Thailand. Benefit of this project will not only be the strengthening of the good relationship between the more than one million registered golfers in Scandinavia, but also the strengthening of Thailand’s position as the leading long haul golf destination.” presents Tanes Petsuwan, executive director at TAT.
The Pro Am is the basis for a one-week exclusive stay in Thailand, that consists of three competitive rounds and three rounds to experience the variety of Thailand’s top ranked golf courses. “TAT is proud to launch this project together with its Scandinavian partners. Golf is an important part of tourism in Thailand, we have over 200 high quality golf courses in the country. In 2016 this great event will be played in Cholburi area which has recently been awarded by IAGTO as the best golf region in Asia.” Tanes Petsuwan continues.
The magnificent experience begins at five-star Royal Cliff Hotel, that hosts the players by offering a beautiful setting to enjoy the sun and excellent service. The Pro Am is played nearby at the unique Siam Country Club under three intensive days. In addition, three other extraordinary beautiful courses are all part of the exiting program. The journey ends with a two-day luxurious city stay in Bangkok, that completes the amazing experience.

Thai Pro Am is a collaborative project coordinated by Finnish Golfresepti and Tourism Authority of Thailand TAT. TAT is the leading organisation for the project and contributes with valuable expertise in order to develop an outstanding experience. TAT strives to increase the knowledge about Thailand’s various tourism possibilities and generate information to the tourism industry. Golfresepti has a coordinating position is the project. Golfresepti has comprehensive knowledge as a tour operator and event organiser, with special expertise in customised experiences, e.g. the legendary Finnish Amateur Championship Erkko Trophy. Golfresepti and TAT coordinate the project in Scandinavia via an extensive network of partners and golf influencers.
